The Effects of Heat and Cold on Car Batteries

However, there are a few things about car batteries that most folks do not know. The battery in your car is actually very sensitive to heat and cold due to the makeup of the battery.

The battery is your car is powered by a chemical reaction. This reaction is generally when a liquid comes in contact with a certain metal- this creates a reservoir of charge inside of your battery compartment. When these components are subject to extreme heat and cold, it is not uncommon for them to not work properly or not work at all.
